Wednesday, October 9th
Aweau Ohana Opening Ceremony, 10am-3pm

What: Opening Ceremony, Awa Ceremony, Genealogy Workshop

10am-10:30am Opening Ceremony, please be prompt
10:30am-11am Awa Ceremony: Kupuna from each line participates in the awa ceremony, led by Kumu Brad Lum
11am-1pm Mo'okuauhau (Genealogy) and Storytelling: Cousin Kimi will have genealogy books, Share stories of our kupuna (ancestors) and get to know one another better
1pm-2pm Lunch: Bring your own lunch, or there will be the option to order bento boxes as a group. Bentos will be $7 per box. Orders will be placed in the morning, and picked up in the afternoon. Bring cash to order bentos.
2pm-3pm Continued Storytelling and connecting​​

Where: Kapiolani Park Check the Aweau Facebook for directions to the exact spot. It will be under a tree, and in a shaded area! There will be balloons and banners to mark the area. ​
​
Notes: For everyday, please bring your own water, chair and beach supplies. Consider providing a donation for kumu’s who lead the ceremonies. It’s going to be an exciting start to reunion week, so make time to come and meet your ohana! We will also be doing a special presentation and mo’olelo to someone special and connected to the aweau ohana.​

Shirts: Shirts will be available for pickup during all reunion events.

Thursday, October 10th
Reunion Day 2, 11am-afternoon

What: Oli, Hula and Genealogy Workshops​
​
Weʻre going to learn oli (chants) as an ohana!

Where: Ala Moana Regional Park. We will be at site 25, under a tree in a shaded area, look at the Aweau Facebook page for more information! Weʻll drop a pin before the event starts!​​

Notes: Don’t forget to bring your own drinks/ chair and beach supplies. Consider providing a donation for kumu’s who lead the ceremonies. Kids can go to beach!We will have a tent setup in a shaded area
​

Friday, October 11th
Reunion Day 3, 2pm-10pm
​
What: Luau, Ti leaf lei making​
​
1pm -2pm Learn to make a ti leaf lei!
2pm-4pm Set up for the Luau! Weʻll set up for the luau starting at 2pm.

Where: Pacific Palisades Community Association. Bathrooms and showers are available at the venue
​
Time: Set up is at 2pm, dinner will be served between 5- 6pm. The venue is reserved until 10pm. All Ohana are expected to help clean up after the event!
​
Drinks/pupu/desserts: Bring your own drinks, only food is provided by the caterer. Each family should consider bringing a pupu or a dessert to share. Be sure to bring a serving utensil with your dish. Label your pan with your name so you can get it back!
​
Honoring kupuna: At the luau we will honor our kupuna. Is there someone in your line that should be recognized? If so, please let us know, and we will recognize them at the luau.
​
Parking: There are around 300 people coming. Parking will be tight, carpool if you can, or take an Uber or Lyft.
​
Fun: There will be opportunities for musicians to share song, for ohana to talk story, and to play some games

Saturday, October 12th
Reunion Day 4, 4pm
​
What: Say Aloha to our Kupuna, Dinner Pau Hana Place
​​​​​​
Where: Ala Moana Regional Park, Pau Hana Place
​
Time: 4-5pm, gather around 4pm. The sunset is around 6pm
​
Notes: We’ll gather on Magic Island (in Ala Moana Regional Park), under a large tree. We’ll oli and say aloha to our kupuna who joined us for the gathering. We’ll then head to Pau Hana Place for an informal dinner. Food is $15-20 a plate, bring your own drinks!
